Plies will perform in Fort Myers on Christmas Day for the first time. The gig will be held downtown at the Harborside Events Center and will start after midnight! The price for the tickets will be $45 for general admission and $70 for reserve seating. Tickets will be available after December 4th at Men’s Castle in Bonita Springs, Designer Closet at the Edison Mall and Men’s Palace in Naples.

Plies recently lost a lawsuit in Alabama when a default judgment was awarded to a concert promoter who claims that the rapper failed to show for a July concert.

According to the Montgomery Advertiser, Patrick Monifston of P Entertainment Promotions won the judgment after Plies and his manager David Gay failed to appear in court.

In the suit filed on July 16, Monifston claimed that the Fort Meyers, Florida rapper was scheduled to perform on July 8th in Montgomery, Alabama, but failed to show, leaving at least 1,500 fans hanging.

When concertgoers were told that Plies would not be performing, fights broke out, causing thousands of dollars in damages to the club, reported the paper.

The promoter sued Plies for breach of contract as well as slander, after Plies reportedly made disparaging comments about him on radio station WZHT Hot 105 a day after his scheduled performance.

During the radio interview, the rapper claimed that he was not paid to perform, and that Monfistson and/or his company should refund the money to concertgoers.

While terms of the judgment were not revealed, Monifston said it was at least $11,000, which would cover the amount he spent to bring Plies to Montgomery, as well as the damages the club sustained.

Ft. Myers, Fla.-based rapper Plies is continuing to ride his wave of success as he prepares to shoot the video for his latest single “Runnin Mama Crazy” this week. Filming for the clip will begin today (Nov. 20) and run through Friday (Nov. 23) in Tampa, Fla.

“Runnin Mama Crazy” is the follow-up to Plies’ #1 song “Shawty” featuring T-Pain.

Both songs are taken from the rapper’s Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic debut, The Real Testament. For Plies, the album, which debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, serves as a vehicle for addressing relevant issues that fans are faced with.

“I ain’t got real problems,” the rapper said. “I’ve got the problems that come with being successful, but I ain’t got real problems. There’s some dude in the world that just got a life sentence today. That’s a real problem. I make reality music. I don’t make music that’s out of touch. There’s so much in the world that I can talk about that’ll help people through their struggles.”

One struggle that is real to a lot of people is spending time in prison. Plies tackles the situation on his “Bid Long,” a somber song that offers listeners a look at those locked up in the prison system as well as how people tend to turn their backs on those serving a 40-year prison sentence.  To further demonstrate his commitment to currently imprisoned inmates who come from the streets, Plies recently hit the road on a nationwide prison tour.

According to the rapper, life behind bars is a sharp contrast to being on the on the outside. “I like to win in life, but to me, every dude who’s in the prison system has lost,” Plies said. “To me, that’s not impressive.”
